Bauchi female journalist urgently seeks N5m for brain tumor surgery

A 38-year old female journalist working with The Daily Post in Bauchi State, Hafsat Abdulhamid Adebayo, who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor is urgently appealing for financial assistance from the public to undergo a surgery.

Adebayo, who has been bedridden for over four years, was diagnosed with the disease at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Plateau State, after several efforts at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi.

Speaking to journalists in Bauchi, her elder sister, Aishat Abdulhamid said that her sister’s sickness started four years ago.

“She has really suffered a lot, we have spent all our savings, friends, family and colleagues have really tried.

“She had a surgery last year with the intervention of the Bauchi State Government where the tumor was evacuated and was recovering at home.

“We are currently at the JUTH. We were told that she has to undergo another emergency surgery. As we speak, for more than a week now, she is unable to eat, talk or walk.”

She appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to urgently help save her sister by contributing towards her raising the N5 million needed for the surgery.

“The consultant told us that she will have the operation this week. We appeal to Nigerians to assist us, may God bless,” she added.
