Be part of Nation building – Governor Mohammed tasks journalists, media houses, youths

Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Muhammad, has thanked journalists, the media, youth, for sustaining democratic culture, institutions, and practices while discharging their duties.

 

Governor Mohammed  also asked them to shun biased reportage and remain professional. To the youth,he appealed to them to continue to be law-abiding citizens.

He gave the charges when he hosted journalists, media houses, youths, singers, in the state ‘iftar’.

 

Gov. Mohammed further hailed them for their support in carrying out their various functions appropriately.

 

He assured that his government is operating with an open-door policy and a genuine commitment to transparency, that has led to a robust relationship fostering with the media.

The Bauchi Governor noted ” recognizing the youth’s roles as a bridge between the government and the public is why my administration has actively engaged with them, by providing them with the needed resources for growth and transformation of our state”.

” it is on record that, under my visionary leadership, Bauchi State has witnessed a remarkable transformation in its infrastructural landscape. The administration’s unwavering dedication to improving roads, schools, hospitals, and other critical amenities has significantly enhanced the quality of life of Bauchi people “.

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi State, Umar Saidu, observed that besides infrastructure, Governor Mohammed’s administration has implemented impactful policies that have contributed to the socio-economic development of Bauchi State. ”

“Initiatives aimed to poverty alleviation, education enhancement, and healthcare improvement have been prioritized”. , showcasing the governor’s holistic approach to governance.

 

He appealed to the Governor to upgrade the NUJ secretariat to a modern one to provide a conducive environment for members to operate effectively and also to approve the implementation of a weigh-in allowance for practicing journalists in the state and continue to engage the youth in his administration”.

Special Advisor on Youth Affairs, Bala Saleh Ciroma remarked  that, in a resounding demonstration of visionary leadership and a commitment to the future, the Governor Bala-led administration has showcased dedication to the empowerment of youth in the state’s governance structure.

“Ranging from caretaker chairmen for local governments to commissioners for various ministries in Bauchi State not only signals a new era of leadership but also highlights the governor’s recognition of the importance of youth in driving development and progress”, he said.

The Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comr Muktar Gidado expressed his delight and gratitude to the Governor for this tremendous gesture.

 

He further said Governor Bala’s youth-focused policies are more than just symbolic gestures as they reflect a strategic vision to empower the youth and ensure their active participation in governance.

By entrusting critical portfolios to young leaders, Governor Bala has paved the way for innovative solutions, fresh perspectives, and transformative change in Bauchi State. This serves as a beacon of hope for youth.
