The Mbachoghur Development Association, Tarka Local Government Area, has praised Governor Hyacinth Alia for his pragmatic leadership, hard work, and commitment to the rapid development of the area.
The group’s Chairman, Akpera Sylvester Tyogema, and Treasurer, Zaki Tyotom Akpen, made the commendation during a courtesy visit to Dr. Mark Nyitse, Director of Research and Publication at the Benue Public Service Institute (BPSI) Makurdi.
They lauded Governor Alia for recognizing Dr. Nyitse’s expertise and appointing him to contribute to the state’s development. The group also urged the Governor to continue prioritizing the security and safety of Tarka people, especially the Mbachoghur community, which shares boundaries with volatile areas.
The group showered blessings on Dr. Nyitse, charging him to prioritize the state’s interest and pledge loyalty to Governor Alia. They expressed confidence in the Governor’s leadership and wished Dr. Nyitse success in his role.
In his response, Dr Mark Nyitse who was overwhelmed with joy over the visit, appreciated the leadership of the community for the honour, adding that it was the first since he assumed office.
The research expert, who pledged his support to the group, promised to remain a good Ambassador of the community and appealed to them to keep faith with the Alia administration, as it was full of positive programmes of development, including for the youths who are committed to engaging in meaningful ventures.
Dr. Nyitse appreciated Zaki Akpen for his peace initiatives in the Mbachoughur community and urged him to continue to foster peace and unity in the interest of the entire Mbakor even as he sued for prayers and support for all leaders in the State.
Other prominent members of the group, who were part of the courtesy visit include, the Vice Chairman, Shima Akighir and Secretary, Mike Terhemen, amongst others.
