
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia

The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia has sworn in the new and first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Mrs. Deborah Serumun Aber at Government House, Makurdi.
Performing the ceremony on Thursday, the Governor informed that the SSG would be coordinating Government activities for better performance.
Governor Alia noted that Mrs Aber merited the appointment saying the new SSG actually qualified for the job and urged the Benue people to support her to succeed.

He insisted that the appointment of a woman as SSG was a clear indication that women were also qualified for appointment in his Government.
Alia noted that building a new Benue requires capable hands adding that Mrs Aber was a capable hand who could effectively man the office of the SSG.
Responding the new SSG, Mrs. Aber assured that the seven point agenda of the state government would be pursued to ensure its fulfilment.
The new SSG who appreciated the governor for the appointment, pledged her unalloyed loyalty to the governor to accomplish the task of governance.
She promised to work with the government officials and other stakeholders for the betterment of the people of the state.
