
Acting Chief of Staff to the Borno State Governor and Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Babagana Mallumbe
Acting Chief of Staff to the Borno State Governor and Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Babagana Mallumbe, has extended heartfelt gratitude to dignitaries and well-wishers who supported his family following the passing of his mother, Hajja Bintu Mohammed.
Hajja Bintu, aged 75, passed away last week at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a prolonged illness.
Her burial, conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, drew a large gathering of prominent figures, including top government officials, National and State Assembly members, politicians, academics, business leaders, traditional rulers, and religious leaders from within and outside Borno State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Mallumbe, on behalf of his family, expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support received during their period of mourning. The statement highlighted the presence and condolences of notable figures, including:
– His Excellency, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON
– His Excellency, Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, CON
– HRH the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi
– Former Governors, including Senators Maina Ma’aji Lawan and Ali Modu Sheriff
– Deputy Governor, H.E. Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur
– Former Deputy Governors, Alh. Abubakar Jato and Hon. Usman Mamman Durkwa
– Senators Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Ali Ndume, Kaka Shehu Lawan, Baba Kaka Garbai, and Abba Aji

– Honourable Commissioners, Advisers, traditional rulers (Shehu of Dikwa, Shehu of Bama, Emir of Uba, Emir of Askira), Chief Imam, Ulamas, Vice Chancellors of the University of Maiduguri and Borno State University, and the general public.
The statement read:
“The family of Dr. Engr. Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe is deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support following the passing of our beloved mother, Hajja Bintu Mohammed. We sincerely thank all who attended the Janazah prayer, visited us, or sent heartfelt condolences. Your shared grief and prayers have given us immense strength.
“We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts your kind deeds, forgives our mother’s shortcomings, and grants her a place in Jannatul Firdaus.”
Dr. Mallumbe extended special prayers for Allah’s blessings on all who supported the family through prayers and other gestures during this difficult time.
