Borno Govt sets up committee to investigate fire outbreak at Govt Technical College

Borno State Government has set up a committee to investigate the remote cause of fire incident that raised some parts of Goni Kachallari Government Day Technical College in Maiduguri.

Consequently the commissioner for education has been directed to submit requirements for immediate rehabilitation of the burnt down structures in the college.

Governor Babagana Zulum announced this shortly after returning from Dikwa and Mafa on a working visit.

Goni Kachallari Government Day Technical College is one of the mega schools recently commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari in Maiduguri, 6th months ago, along Custom Muna Express way.

On his visit to Dikwa and Mafa Local Governments, Governor Zulum, said his visit is to assess and conduct the ongoing training and verification exercise for primary school teachers.

He noted that government will not retrench any teacher but will ascertain those qualified and train those who are not qualified to teach or transfer them to administration departments so that they will continue to earn their salaries.

The Governor was in Dikwa to inspect the ongoing renovation works at military facility recently burnt down to give the military a place of abode while carrying out their operations and to discuss with the military on how to put modalities to reopen Dikwa Ngala road, saying “the process is on top gear and soon be reopen”.

In Dikwa, the Governor paid a homage to the Shehu of Dikwa at his palace. Gov Zulum informed the Shehu that he has already released adequate fund for the electrification of the town and assured him of his administration’s zeal to provide basic needs of the people.

While responding the Shehu of Dikwa, Alh. Ibrahim Ibn Umar El-kenemi, appreciated the governor for supporting his domain all the time and prayed for the overall success of his administration.

On his visit to Mafa the governor said his aim is to inspect the pilot project on modern irrigation, which would produce crops and grasses for both human and animal consumption that will be extended to many community across the state.

The cultivation of grasses will give room for establishments of cattle range that enable cattle rearing in acceptable modern ways.
