Borno State Government on Monday signed a contract with ECC 18th Engineering Company Limited for the construction of a fly over at West End Round about at a total sum of over 7.9 billion naira.
Signing the contract on behalf of the Borno State Government, the Commissioner of Works and Housing Engr Mustapha Gubio said after following all due processes of Procurement Process for the award of contract ,EEC considering their previous record of achievements have been found suitable and selected for the contract .
The Commissioner appealed to the contractor to ensure quality work and adhere strictly to the specification of the project as well as complete the project within the stipulated 12 month completion period.
He said a down payment of 40 percent of the total cost has been mobilized to the contractor as mobilisation fee already with proposed additional 10 percent payment very soon to make it 50 percent.
He said with this arrangement, much is expected from the contractor in terms of quality and speedy work.
Engr. Mustapha noted that Borno State government has spent a lot of money in the construction of roads and drainages and is also intending to do more to develop the state in line with the 25 years development plan of the state
The representative of EEC Construction Company Limited, Mr Gao Kun promised to justify the confidence reposed in them and execute the project according to specifications of the project design..
