Borno Network for CSOs gets approval to observe LG elections

The Executive Director Network for CSOs Borno State (NECSOB), Ambassador Comrade Bulama Abiso, on Wednesday said the network has received a formal approval from the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC) to observe the forth coming LG Councils election in the state.

Comrade Abiso stated this during a briefing with members of the Network ahead of Saturday’s Local Government elections in the state.

He said arrangement has been concluded with the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC ) for the network to mobilize its members across the state to monitor the general conduct of the LG election across the 27 L.G.As of the state.

The Executive Chairman also highlighted specific key areas where the network will prioritize its observation and monitoring exercise.

Such areas according to him include the overall general conduct of the election, gender participation , inclusiveness of the general election and security provision among others.

During the meeting, members were also instructed on how to use some electoral materials as working tools in the course of the election.

The Executive Director, further, called on the members of the NECSOB to endeavour to comply with the stipulated rules and regulations of the LG Polls as the network is expected to submit its report on the conduct of the election to the commission.orn
