Borno Speaker felicitates Delta, Ebonyi governors over Supreme Court verdict

The Speaker, Borno State House of Assembly (BOSHA), Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan has felicitated with governor of Delta state, Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori and his counterpart of Ebonyi state, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru for their affirmation by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, as legitimately elected governor of their respective states during the 2023 general elections.

This was contained in a press statement personally signed by the Speaker, a copy which was made available to our Correspondent in Maiduguri at the week end.

Recall that the duo were former Colleagues of the Borno Speaker at the 8th and 9th Assembly.

These victories according to Lawan further rekindled the faith in democracy and the confidence democrats have on the Judiciary being the last hope of the common man.

His words: ” I want to use this medium and to join millions of Nigerians in Congratulating the Executive governor of Delta state, Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori and his counterpart of Ebonyi state, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru for their affirmation by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, as legitimately elected governor of their respective states during the 2023 general elections.

“These victories further empowers the victorious Governors to continue to deliver on the projects and programmes that are dear and impactful to the people of Delta and Ebonyi.

“I have no doubt, that with their pedigree, they will now have no distraction for whatsoever, as they all strive to put smile on the faces of their people who had massively gave them the mandate to serve them in good faith, peace and prosperity.

“While I pray for their tenure to be prosperous for the people of their dear states, I urge them to focus on the delivery of good governance.” Lawan stated.
