COAS warns terrorists, other criminals to give peace a chance or face destruction

COAS inspecting weapons recovered from insurgents in Maiduguri on Tuesday

The Chief of Army Staff, LT General Farouq Yahaya on Tuesday warned members the Boko Haram insurgents, Islamic State of West African Province ( ISWAP), bandits, kidnappers, and other criminals to surrendered their weapons and embrace peace, as time is against them.

General Yahaya made the call on Tuesday while inspecting arms and ammunition recovered from the insurgents at the Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri.

He said: “our call for all these terrorists, bandits and other criminals out there, is that time is against them, the better for them to tore the line of peace, we get them. The equipment we have here speaks for itself.”.

The Army Chief commended President Muhammadu Buhari for giving the military all what it takes to execute the war, stressing that they are determined to defeat the enemy of peace..

” I want to appreciate, Mr President and assure all Nigerians of our commitment, determination to defeat all the enemies of peace in all our theater of operations in the Northeast, Northwest, North central and other parts if the nation”, he added.

He said ” I am here to see what, we have being doing interns of operations, our successes , the result of shat we have been doing in Sambisa, Tubuktu Triangle Tumbus and Mandara mountains, You have seen the successes we have recorded”.

“I am impressed with the zeal, and commitment I have seen in the theater and other theaters of operations both here in Northeast, Northwest and other parts of the country. These is not without challenges which is parts of the military operations. We are determined to defeat them “.

The COAS later went into closed door meeting with the principal officer of the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai.
