
Borno Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid

Borno State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by CP Naziru Abdulmajid, psc, as the 43rd Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command.
CP Abdulmajid takes over from CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, psc, who retired from active service on 8th June, 2025.
A statement issued and signed by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, ANIPR, the Police Public Relations Officer, Borno State Command said CP Abdulmajid hailed from Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP), Course 19, on 16th August, 1996.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Geography from the prestigious Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
With about three decades of distinguished service, CP Abdulmajid is a highly motivated and purpose-driven law enforcement officer, known for his professionalism and dedication.
He has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities across the country, including:, Conventional police duties in several state commands, notably Plateau, Katsina, Kano, Borno, and Lagos.
Others are: Unit Commander, 36 PMF, Kebbi State, Assistant Commissioner, State CID, Nasarawa State; Area Commander, Hadejia, Jigawa State, Commander, 24 PMF, Presidential escort, Abuja;Deputy Commissioner, Department of Operations, Akwa Ibom State and _eputy Commissioner, ‘X’ Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna State.
Prior to his current appointment, CP Naziru Abdulmajid served as the Commissioner of Police (Admin), ICT, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
He also attended several courses to include junior Command Course, Police Staff College, Jos Intermediate Command Course, Police Staff College, Job Mobile Police Training, Gwoza.
CP Naziru Abdulmajid is happily married and blessed with children.
As he assumes office as the 43rd Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Abdulmajid has pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all residents of the state.
He is also committed to upholding professionalism, promoting community-friendly policing, and maintaining zero tolerance for corruption, in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
The Command calls on the good people of Borno State to extend their full cooperation to the new Commissioner of Police as he works to ensure peace, security, and public trust across the state.
