
Cross River State Police Commissioner, Gyogon Grimah

The Cross River State Police Command within the period of 1st January to 31st December 2024 has recorded a total of three hundred and twenty cases.
The Cross River State Commissioner of Police CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah disclosed this on Thursday while parading suspects at the police Headquarters in Calabar, the state capital.
According to the police commissioner, within the period Ist January to 16th December, 2024 murder cases recorded twenty five.
Also, robbery cases from 1st January to 16th December, 2024 twenty three cases were recorded while stealing between the same period rose to 172.
Within the period, the Commissioner said assault cases were 37, vandaliazation were 9 and attempted murder has 6 cases, malicious damage 5 cases, kidnapping 5, and unlawful possession of firearms 9, arson 4 and cultism 3.
He noted that cases Charged to Court from January to December 2024 include 399, number of cases prosecuted 19, number of cases on conviction 15, number of cases discharged 4, number of cases on appeal 2, totaling 376.
He stated that out of the total cases, 48 cases were transmitted to Department of Public Prosecution where the remaining 328 cases are pending at Federal High Court Calabar.
