By DAVID IORJA, Abuja –
President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the devastation caused by mudslides from Cyclone Freddy and floods, which left more than 300 people dead in Malawi.
President Buhari stated this in a statement by his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, on Friday in Abuja while reacting to the record-breaking storm that came with devastating landslides in the Southeastern African state of Malawi.
Buhari conveyed the nation’s condolences to his counterpart, President Lazarus Chakwera, the families of victims who lost their lives, and Government and people of the country.
The president prayed for repose of the souls of the deceased, quick recovery for the injured, while hoping for early restoration of normalcy in all the areas affected.
