Dangote Cement Plc has emerged as Nigeria’s top tax-compliant organisation for 2025, following a rigorous assessment conducted by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The company’s Group Head of Tax and Compliance, Mojisola Ogunlade, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday in Lagos.
She said the award was presented at the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair, where the firm’s compliance culture received notable praise.
According to Ogunlade, the recognition underscores Dangote Cement’s long-running commitment to transparency, accountability, and prompt fulfilment of its statutory tax responsibilities. She noted that the award also reaffirms the company’s role in driving national development through consistent and responsible tax payments.
She added that the gesture from the FIRS should encourage other private-sector players to strengthen their internal controls and give tax compliance the priority it deserves.
Ogunlade explained that the accolade reflects the company’s determination to sustain a productive partnership with the FIRS, aimed at enhancing efficiency and supporting a more transparent tax environment. She recalled that the Dangote Group remitted over N402 billion in taxes in 2024, maintaining its status as Nigeria’s highest taxpayer.
She further highlighted that the group’s full compliance record was achieved through advanced tax governance systems aligned with global best practices. These systems, she said, ensure strict adherence to deadlines while eliminating risks and costs associated with non-compliance.
Ogunlade stressed that Dangote Cement would continue to promote a culture of tax discipline as part of its wider corporate responsibility commitment.
