Mavin Records boss, Michael Collins Ajereh (Don Jazzy)
Mavin Records boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, has opened up about his deep-seated fears when it comes to marriage — despite his fame, fortune, and years of success in the entertainment industry.
Speaking candidly on HabbyFX’s YouTube show, the 42-year-old music producer revealed that his hesitation to remarry is rooted in past heartbreaks, public scandals, and the potential financial fallout that can come with divorce.
Don Jazzy, who tied the knot back in 2003 but got divorced just two years later, admitted that while he still believes in love, he’s cautious about the risks that come with it.
> “My parents were madly in love before my mom passed away, and that made me believe in love. But when you see messy breakups online, it brings fear,” he shared.
The producer also touched on financial concerns, noting that money can complicate relationships.
> “A man can lose half of everything he’s worked for if there’s no prenup. That scares me because what I have is meant for my generation,” he explained.
Although he has dated since his divorce, Don Jazzy confessed that he is currently single — mostly out of fear and self-awareness.
> “Na fear o. God’s time is the best. I want the right person, but I’m not sure I’m the right person for somebody’s daughter,” he said with a laugh.
Reflecting on personal growth, the producer admitted he’s still learning and evolving.
> “Am I disciplined enough to be with one person? I’m still working on myself and praying to be better. I was a menace when I was young, but I’m wiser now.”
Describing his daily routine, Don Jazzy revealed that he lives a quiet life, spending most of his time between his house, office, and studio, while trusting his team to handle most business matters.
He also used the opportunity to celebrate fellow Nigerian artists such as Johnny Drille, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, 2Baba, D’banj, and Olamide, acknowledging their influence in shaping the sound of Nigerian music.
On faith, Don Jazzy admitted that while he believes in God, he has become more cautious about organized religion.
> “I believe in God, but I’ve become sceptical about churches with how things are now,” he said.
Fans have since praised his openness, commending the music mogul for his honesty about love, fear, and faith — and for showing that even the biggest stars struggle with the same emotions as everyone else.
