Drunk man found dead in a well in Bauchi

ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi –

A man believed to be 30-years old, a resident of Dashem Bakin Kogi village in Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi State, Panshak Arbe, has been found dead in a well.

The lifeless body of the man who is suspected to have been drunk was found in a well by residents who were thrown into confusion by the development.

Our Correspondent learnt that the deceased had gone to a beer parlour with friends to relax which was a usual thing for him and was said to have gone out of the joint without telling anyone where he was going to.

He was only found dead inside the well when some of his family members raised an alarm about his whereabouts.

While speaking to newsmen about the incident, a resident of the area who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident saying that nobody knows whether he fell into the well or he was killed and dumped there.

“Yes, the corpse of a young man was found inside a well. The man was later identified as Panshak Arbe who was assumed to be 30 years old.

“He went to one of the beer parlours in town with friends but nobody knows how he felt inside the well. Was he killed or drunk? Only God knows. The well is very close to that beer parlour, but nobody knows what led to his death,” he said.

A family source however revealed that after notifying the authority concerned about the development, the man was taken to the General Hospital, Tafawa Balewa where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

He added that his corpse was later deposited at the mortuary while further investigations are ongoing to unravel what led to his death.

The incident is coming just three days after a 37-year old Anambra businessman, Chukwunonso Chukwujekwu, was found dead in a hotel room in mysterious circumstances in Boi village, Bogoro LGA which shares border with the Tafawa Balewa LGA.
