Muslims faithful in Maiduguri city have observed a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr sallah celebration as the two supplication rakaats were observed peacefully in many Eid mosque within the metropolis.
Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, Governor Babagana Zulum, Borno Deputy Governor, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur, APC Deputy National Chairman and Senator Abubakar Kyari were part of the dignitaries that observed the Rakaats prayers at Ramat Square Eid ground.
Others at the praying ground include – The Minister of State for Agriculture, Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri, Borno Assembly Speaker, Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan and the Shehu of Borno, HRH, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Umar El Kanemi among other personalities from the State Executive Council (SEC), Borno State House of Assembly members and political party stakeholders.

The Imam Idaini of Borno, Imam Shettima Mamman Saleh who led the two rakaats at the Ramat Square in his sermon, urged Muslims faithful to ensure they observed their Zakatul Fitr and continue the good deeds, prayers and teachings of the holy month of Ramadan.
He further charged the general public to continue to live in peace and unity with one another, while praying for quick restoration of permanent peace in the state and an end to the insurgency.
Imam Idaini also admonished Muslims to be steadfast in their worships and pray for the state and country at large while thanking God Almighty declaring today, Friday as Eid El Fitr sallah day, 1th Shawwal 1444 AH.
Meanwhile, the Shehu of Borno, HRH, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Umar El Kanemi, has hosted the Vice President-elect, Governor Zulum and other dignitaries to a durbar at his palace.
The royal father in his sermon to the people of Borno called for peace and unity among the people and prayed for permanent end to the insurgency.
He thanked President Buhari for his support and concern to the people and government of Borno and applauded the leadership of Governor Zulum while appreciating the Vice President-elect for his support and assistance .
