Flood: Buhari pays sympathy visit to Zulum, Shehu of Borno

Former President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday visited the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Ibn Umar El Kanemi, to offer condolences and sympathy over the recent flood disaster in Maiduguri.
The flood claimed many lives and destroyed properties worth billions of naira.
The Shehu thanked Buhari for his support and concern for the people and government of Borno state while praying for longer life and good health for Buhari.
Buhari later paid condolence and sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state at the Government House Maiduguri over the recent flood disaster.
He also condoled the family of his former Minister, Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri over the demise of his mother.
Although, the former President had earlier sent a delegation to condole with the people and government of Borno State last month led by the former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Fannami.
Governor Zulum expressed gratitude for former President Buhari’s visit and concern for the Borno people and government during his tenure as Nigerian President.
He also commended Buhari for initiating developmental projects in Borno State, such as the Maiduguri Emergency Gas Plant and the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
Other Federal projects include Federal Polytechnic Monguno and Federal College of Education Gwoza, 10,000 housing estate in various LGAs across the state, and oil exploration drilling in Tungoshe among others .
Governor Zulum acknowledged the positive impact of these projects on the state and its people.
Buhari was accompanied by four former Ministers, former SSA Media and Publicity,, Garba Shehu , former SGF, Boss Mustapha and his Private Assistant, Sabiu Tunde.
