Four adults gang rape 12-year old girl in Bauchi, three suspects arrested

Four suspects who allegedly gang raped a 12 year old girl in Azare town, Katagum local government area headquarters of Bauchi state, have been arrested, NATIONAL ACCORD reports.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, Ahmed Wakili, who disclosed this in a media statement issued to newsmen on Friday night, said that five other suspects were also arrested in connection with offences against property and Public Peace. 

He said: “On 28th June, 2020 at about 5.00pm, one Magaji Shehu, (30), of Ramin Kasa Azare reported at Azare Police station that his daughter, Fatima Yusuf, (12) of Ramin Kasa Azare revealed to him that several times within the year 2020, one Ahmed Sulaiman, (35), Male, of the same address, Nasiru Shuaibu, (40) of Tashar Gadau Azare, Sani Inuwa, (34), Male, of Tsakuwa Azare and Achichi, Male, now at large, lured her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. 

“Moreover, three suspects were arrested in connection with the case while investigation is ongoing.”

He added that one Mohammed Yahaya, had reported at the Dambam Police station that his 10 year old daughter was forcefully raped  by a 17 year old boy when she went to the bush to fetch firewood.

“On the 19th June, 2020 about 8.30pm, one Mohammed Yahaya, (37), Male, of Dagauda town reported at Dambam Police Station that on the same date at about 4.00pm his daughter, one Fatima (10) in company of her friends, Uwale and Abba, both of same address went to the bush situated in Dambam to fetch firewood.

“There, one Rilwanu Adamu, (17), Male, lured her to a nearby river and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her against her consent,” he said.

He said that the suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime. 

Wakili, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, further said that on 21st June, 2020 at about 12.00pm, one Danjuma Abdullahim, Male, of Tilden Fulani, Toro LGA reported at the Station that on the 17th June, 2020 at about 2.00pm, his wife, Abida Muhammad, Female, of same address observed some abnormality from their daughter, Amina Danjuma, (5).

“Upon enquiry she narrated to her mother that one man took her into an uncompleted building at the same address and had carnal knowledge of her, however medical examination revealed that the said Amina was rape. 

“Then, on 21/06/2020 at about 1130hrs the victim saw one Yushe’u Musa m of Tilden Fulani and identified him to be her Rapist. The suspect was arrested and investigation is still ongoing,” he stated.

*Man, 33, arrested for raping Teenager in uncompleted building

Also, on 25th June, 2020 at about 9.30pm, one Emmanuel Steven, (33), Male, of Unguwan Laka Ward in Toro LGA, a co-tenant in the same address, took one Zainab Abdullahi, (13) into an uncompleted building in the same compound and had carnal knowledge of her. 

According to him, the Suspect was immediately arrested by the Police and is helping with the investigation.

The Police Spokesman said a 31-year old woman reported at that Soro Police Station that one Nasiru Adamu (25),  entered her while she was sleeping and slept with her.

He said that the woman claimed that she thought it was her husband who slept with her until she realized that it wasn’t him and he was sleeping in the other room.

He said: “On the 29th June, 2020 about 8.30am, one Saratu Adamu, (31), of Kunyaje village came to Soro Police Station and reported that, on 28th June, 2020 about 4.00pm, when she was deeply sleeping in her room, suddenly, one Nasiru Adamu, (25), Male, of Jalingo village, Soro entered her room and had carnal knowledge of her.

“Later, she realised that it was not her husband and she raised an alarm. Her husband, Adamu Jumba, who was sleeping in his other room responded and the suspected rapist escaped. 

According to him, the suspect was traced and apprehended and investigation still ongoing.

Wakili also disclosed that on 20th July, 2020, Operatives attached to the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested One Nwanko Emeka, (25), Male, of Anguwan Kashew Yelwa Bauchi, for being in possession of a locally made pistol at Bubbies night club while trying to incite disturbance. 

He said that upon preliminary investigation, he (Emeka) confessed to belonging to Supreme Viking Cult group with arrow as their truncheon and further mentioned Emmanuel Paul, Isaac Paul, Lucky Amechi and Bimene Mathew.

He added that the were all traced and arrested stressing that they were been Investigated by the Police.
