*Gov Mohammed urged Muslims to imbibe spirit of forgiveness, humility

The Chief Imam of the Bauchi Central Mosque, Malam Bala Baban-Inna has appealed to the state governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed to pay civil servants in the state their July salaries to enable them celebrate Eid-el Kabir comfortably.
NATIONAL ACCORD reports that many workers in the state were not paid their July salary but local governments staff were paid before the sallah.
Baban-Inna said muslims who were not able to slaughter animals on sallah day are allowed to make the sacrifice on the second or third day.
He asked those opportuned to slaughter animals to share the meat with the less privileged people so that they can also enjoy the festival.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who spoke with journalists shortly after observing the two Eid-El Kabir prayers at Bauchi Central Mosque, called on Muslims in the state to use the period for self-assessment and sober reflection.

Mohammed and the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwan Adamu.He said: “I want on behalf of the Government and people of Bauchi state express our gratitude to our creator, Allah (SWT) for this very auspicious day, the day for sacrifice, a day of sober reflection to look inward towards giving to the society.”
“This period is for us to take corrective measures where necessary for us to be amongst the believers who will enjoy the mercies of Allah (SWT) in the hereafter.”
“This time around, we are having a lot of challenges because of the outbreak of COVID-19 in which we could not perform Hajj, not to interact as much as we wish, but we have seen people making sacrifices of observing NCDC protocols.”
He emphasized the need for muslim faithful to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, humility and respect for one another for the betterment of the society.
The Governor who said his administration is ready to be accountable, pledged loyalty to common people in the state by providing them with dividends of democracy.
“We are ready as much as possible to be accountable and I want all officials in my government to know that we are responsible and accountable to God and to the people who voted us in to power,” he said.
Meanwhile, governor Bala Mohammed, has reminded Muslims that God expects them to be generous with one another, irrespective of our religious, ethnic and political differences.
The governor who stated this in a media statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Muhktar Gidado, congratulated the faithful on the commemoration of this year’s Eid-el Kabir, calling on them to use the occasion to strengthen the existing interpersonal relationship and create new ones.
He also urged them to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, humility and respect for one another.
Mohammed who said that leadership is about sacrifice, reassured the people of his administration’s commitment to continue serving them so that the state will forge ahead in his quest to develop the state.
“As you can see we are making our modest efforts in infrastructural development, education, health, youth empowerment and agriculture, which I believe are critical to the development of our dear State.
“We will continue to pursue developmental projects which have direct bearings on the lives of our people to the door-steps of all the communities in the State.
“We are not unmindful of the present hardships being experienced by the people as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic being faced globally.
“These hardships are being experienced in our social and religious aspects. I call on our people to bear with us on this serious Health situation. As responsible Government we will continue to render palliative measures with a view to cushioning the effects of the hardships,” he assured.
The governor called on all residents of the state to continue to bear with the government and make some sacrifices to ensure that the State was put on the path of greatness.
He said that “the present hardship is temporary, as soon as we put our acts together by obeying the protocols of COVID-19 as demanded by experts in various fields, we will come out victorious. After all, Eid-el Adha is all about sacrifice , adherence to the practices and principles of patience and perseverance.”
Mohammed, urged the people to continue to pray for peace, progress and the development of the State and the county in general.
He called on motorists to adhere to road traffic accidents while on the road so as to reduce traffic crashes on the highways.
“Let me use this opportunity to appeal to all motorists to observe traffic regulations, so that we can reduce accidents on our highways throughout the period of Eid-el Kabir celebration and beyond.
“I appeal to parents to control their children and wards in order to reduce the incidents of missing children during this festivities.”
