
Senator Al-Makura and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has urged Christians to reflect deeply on the significance of Easter period which epitomized sacrifice, love, peace and patience.
Governor Sule, in his Easter message which is contained in statement by Ibrahim Addra, his Chief Press Secretary, said such periods of religious significance as Easter reminds us of the existence of God and his mercy on mankind.
He said: “It is important that as brothers and sisters we must emulate the virtue of sacrifice and mutual respect for one another in our dealings as we work for a better society.
The governor urged Christians to seize the moment for spiritual rejuvenation and ensure their activities are not at variance with the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
He emphasized the need for the people of the state to continue to close ranks across ethnic and religious divides and to protect the hard earned peace in the state.
On his part, Senator Al-Makura, urged Christians to use the occasion to reflect on the lessons of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Senator Al-makura, who represent Nasarawa South, called on Christians to intensify prayer for the state and county.
“The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolized sacrifice and the divinity of God; as such Jesus Christ personifies selflessness, humility, patience and perseverance, ” he said.
Al-Makura, enjoined Christians in the State to continue to imbibe these virtues by exhibiting the spirit of love, sharing, compassion, good neighbourliness and, indeed, peaceful coexistence among the diverse people of the State.
He called on the people of the state to continue to live in peace and harmonious co-existence in the midst of our religious, ethnic and political diversities.
He urged Nigerians to pray for the successful transmission of power from the out going President, Muhammadu Buhari, to the President-Elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
