
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia

The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has received 16169 litres of liquid fertilizer for onward distribution to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Benue State.
Speaking while receiving the liquid fertilizer, the governor expressed joy for the benevolence of the President as well as the Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for remembering the state even at this critical time.
Represented by the Principal Private Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ichenge, the governor acknowledged the role of the federal government in caring for the people of the state, adding that the fertilizer was supposed to have been sent to Benue in 2018 and the federal government has kept to her promise.
Governor Alia has promised that the fertilizer will reach the right people, and he’s committed to ensuring that the state’s residents receive everything they’re entitled to.
The zonal Director of NEMA, Bashir Garba, who represented the Director General of NEMA, said the state did not get all what was meant for them in 2018 and the process has ended this time with this liquid fertilizer.
He noted that one litre of the liquid fertilizer is equivalent to fifty kilogram bag of fertilizer and appreciated the Benue State Governor for his interest in agriculture.
The Benue State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor Moses Ogbaje , noted that Governor Alia has subsidized agriculture for the benefit of the Benue people and expressed gratitude to the federal government for its support in agriculture.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) James Iorpuu also appreciated the federal government for the support to farmers and for all the state has been collecting from NEMA, announcing also that the state has received 300 bags of rice for IDPs
