“Indeed, we are aware of the challenges. President Bola Tinubu is also much aware of the challenges that we are facing. The Federal Government is doing everything possible to cushion the effects of the hardships.

“But we believe as a state, we should be able to do our own part while the Federal Government is doing its own part. That is the reason why today we are commencing with Awe Local Government by distributing the food items that the state government purchased in order to share with the people,” he stated.

He disclosed that 100 beneficiaries, picked from the official social register were selected from each of the six electoral wards making up Awe Local Government Area.

“I am particularly in Awe because of the love the people of Awe have for Bola Tinubu, for me and our party, the APC. Since after the election, I believe I should be able to come over and over to come and thank the people for what you have done, for which we will continue to support you,” he stated.

In Azara, Governor Sule said he is aware there is hunger across the land, as well as economic hardship, adding that that explains why his administration must intervene in order to bring sucour to the people.

The beneficiaries were drawn from the four wards making up the development area namely Akiri, Azara, Ribi and Wuse.

“From our end, we must continue to do something with or without something coming from the Federal Government. What we did is that before the grains come from the Federal Government, we decided that we are going to give rice and cash gift to the people,” he stated.

He pointed out that the distribution of palliative is one out of the several other interventions embarked upon by his administration to include cash transfer both by the NG-CARES and Nasarawa State Social Investment Agency (NSSIA).

He said he was also in Azara to personally inspect the ongoing road construction leading to the town amongst other reasons.

“I am actually here for three reasons. The first reason is an opportunity to be able to share this food items. The second reason is because I wanted to see for myself the road construction coming to Azara. I wanted to be able to assess the project and see what is that we can do.

“The third reason and the most important, is for me to tell the people of Azara development area thank you for your performance during the last election. I want to appreciate you for your support. I want to tell you that what you have done for us,” he stated.
