The Chairman of the Northern Governor’s Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, has commissioned 48 new classrooms at the Higher Islamic School in Briyel town, Borno State.
Governor Yahaya also distributed 500 bicycles to students and pupils in Bayo LGA, along with instructional materials, and commissioned the new Bayo Government Lodge in Briyel. Additionally, he commissioned a newly constructed Jummaa Mosque in Fikayel town of Bayo LGA in the evening.
Later in the evening, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State commissioned several new facilities in Briyel town, including 10 units of two-bedroom bungalow flats for teachers (Bayo Teachers Quarters), a digital literacy center (Bayo Digital Literacy Center), and a government lodge (Bayo Government Lodge).

Earlier in the day, Governor Yahaya commended Governor Zulum’s efforts to transform the state, despite the numerous challenges it faces, including the Boko Haram insurgency, the Monday Market fire disaster, and the recent flood disaster.
He praised Governor Zulum as a hardworking and compassionate leader who is dedicated to his people and committed to their well-being. He called on the people of Borno to pray for Governor Zulum, asking God to give him the strength and courage to continue his good work in the state.
Inuwa Yahaya added that the developmental projects he outlined for commissioning and those yet to be constructed and commissioned testified the uniqueness of his leadership and good governance cherished by all across the country and abroad.

Governor Zulum in his remark, promised to construct 100 houses for teachers in Biu, MMC, Gubio, Magu meri, Mobbar, Bama and Durkwa among others while those LGAs that already have teachers will joy additional teachers quarters.
He also announced the release of N50 million for Higher Islamic School while urging the Islamic and Tsangaya schools management teams and boards to work in synergy and be united in the conduct affairs of the schools.
The Chairman, Arabic/Islamic and Tsangaya Integrated Reform Agency, Khalifa Ali Abulfatihi appreciated the governor for constructing such edifice which would serve as a solid foundation for the younger generations and source of employment and learning tremendously.
He said apart from imparting knowledge and being center of excellence, the school will graduate students of high caliber and standard educational background while appealing to both the management and students of the school to dedicate themselves to teaching and learning..
