Group debunks CSU certificate forgery against Tinubu

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu

A coalition of youths group and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the president’s certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was genuine and not forged.

The group comprising of Ohanaeze Ndigbo youths,Arewa youths, Niger Delta youths, Afenifere youths and other CSOs among others, in their resolution after a meeting in Abuja, urged the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar not to waste his time” on the transcript and academic records of PresidentTinubu from Chicago State University (CSU).

They noted that the deposition on President Bola Tinubu’s academic records by Caleb Westberg, the registrar of Chicago State University, has vindicated him.

The group made their position known in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Arewa Youths leader, Alhaji Abubakar Musa, and Dr Obiora Bartholomew, a youth leader from the Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The statement said: “Recently, the media was inundated with publication by the opposition parties to tarnish the image and integrity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reasons best known to them.

“One would have ordinarily dismissed the allegation of certificate forgery with a wave of hand as the originators of this fake news are corrupt persons who when they were in power were known to have enriched themselves with Nigerians common patrimony, We however feel that it is necessary to put the record straight for the general public to know.

“That the allegation by the opposition that the Chicago State University’s diploma certificate submitted by President Bola Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC was forged is not true

“The certificate through our independent findings is authentic and not forged as insinuated by the opposition. Indeed, The Chicago State University (CSU) confirmed that the President didn’t submit a fake result to INEC.

“CSU affirmed under oath that President Bola Tinubu attended and graduated from the institution and that the school does not handle replacements for lost certificates. The claim that President Tinubu submitted fake certificate to INEC does not make sense because a man can not forge the academic records he possesses. You can only forge what you don’t have.”

The group noted that all these cheap allegations are unfounded and mere blackmail just to create some unnecessary fracas in some quarters and to distract Mr. President from delivering his mandates to Nigerians.

“We therefore urge Nigerians to disregard such lies being peddled by the opposition parties who do not have the interest of the country at heart.

“It is evident that some enemies of Nigeria are hell bent at tarnishing the good reputation of President Bola Tinubu considering his proven track records and the recent strides he has accomplished since he assumed the number one office in Nigeria.

“Within the last four months in office, President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated that he possesses the salient traits of many great leaders in history; vision and courage to take Nigeria to a great heights and restore its lost glory.

“The President Bola Tinubu led administration is working tirelessly to raise the country’s revenue profile, ensure sustainable financing and ongoing reforms that would positively transform the nation’s economic fortunes

“This act by the President has indeed placed Nigeria on a sure footing for enduring progress and development”, it said.

The group called on Nigerians to continue to remain resolute and have faith in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“As part of our solidarity, we the OHANEZE NDI-IGBO YOUTHS, AREWA YOUTHS, AFENIFERE YOUTHS, NIGER DELTA YOUTHS, NORTH-CENTRAL YOUTHS AND THE CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS (CSOs) will on Thursday, 12th October, 2023 organize a One Million Man March to herald our supports for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration”, it said..
