
Federal lawmaker representing Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Abubakar Nalaraba, has flagged off the distribution of 17,000 trailer trucks of rice to Muslims and Christians across Nasarawa State.
Hon Nalaraba, while speaking during the flag off of the distribution in Awe the headquarter of Awe local government area of Nasarawa State, on Saturday said the palliative aims to support vulnerable persons and groups during the Ramadan and Lent periods which coincided this year.
The Federal Lawmaker, who performed the symbolic distribution in Nasarawa South Senatorial District (Lafia Zone), comprising of Lafia, Doma, Keana, Awe and Obi local government areas, urged the committee saddled with the responsibility to ensure the rice and cash gets to the beneficiaries.
Hon Nalaraba, who emphasized his commitment to serving humanity, opined that he’s not campaigning, rather he is fulfilling his duty as a lawmaker by giving back to the people of his constituency and the state.
The Lawmaker, also called on the people of the state to support his 2027 governorship ambition, as he noted that he has all it takes and the capacity to govern the state if given the opportunity.
Earlier in a welcome address, chairman Campaign Committee of Hon Nalaraba 2027, Alhaji Mamman Alakayi, commended the lawmaker for his contributions and benevolence, as he urged other lawmakers to emulate his gesture.
Alakayi, a former commissioner of information in Nasarawa State, also commended the lawmaker for initiating the bill that led to the establishment of Federal College of Education Technical (FCE-T), Keana and other people oriented constituency projects he has attracted so far.
Beneficiaries interviewed after the symbolic distribution and cash donations, thanked the lawmaker for sharing rice and giving them money, as they prayed for more wisdom and strength for him to perform his legislative responsibility.
The distribution of palliatives and cash worth 17.5 million naira which started on Saturday in Awe in Nasarawa South, ended on Monday in Nasarawa Eggon, in Nasarawa North.
The palliative distribution will continue from Toto local government area in Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone on Wednesday.
