Iran launches missile attack
Iran has launched a missile attack on a US military base in Qatar, sparking international condemnation and calls for restraint.
The attack, which targeted Al Udeid Air Base, a key hub for US and coalition forces in the region, was confirmed by US President Donald Trump.
According to reports, Iran fired 14 missiles at the base, with 13 being intercepted by Qatari defenses. Trump said, “There have been 14 missiles fired – 13 were knocked down, and one was ‘set free,’ because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction.”
No casualties were reported, and Trump expressed relief that “NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done”.
*“Very weak response”: Trump’s reaction*

Trump described the attack as a “very weak response” to the US bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, claiming it was anticipated and effectively countered.
He also hinted that Iran gave the US advanced notice of the missile attack, saying, “I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured.”
Trump called for both Iran and Israel to work towards a ceasefire, stating, “Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same”.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the attack, expressing deep concern over the escalation of conflict in the Middle East.
“From the outset of the crisis, the Secretary-General has repeatedly condemned any military escalation in this conflict, including today’s attack by Iran on the territory of Qatar,” a UN spokesperson said. Guterres urged all parties to stop fighting and uphold their obligations under international law .
The attack marks the latest escalation in tensions between Iran and the US, following a series of missile strikes between Iran and Israel. The situation has raised concerns about the potential for further conflict and the need for diplomatic efforts to address underlying issues.
