Motorcycles distributed to security agencies in Langtang North LGA
The Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area, Hon. Pirfa Tyem, has presented 15 motorcycles to security agencies operating within the local government to enhance patrol, surveillance and rapid response.
The beneficiary agencies include the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigerian Correctional Service, local vigilante groups and other sister security agencies.
The presentation, described as symbolic, was performed by former Senator and Plateau South senatorial aspirant, Napoleon Bali, who commended the Chairman for the proactive initiative.
Speaking at the event, Tyem said the decision followed a series of security meetings with service chiefs after rising concerns over petty theft and motorbike snatching in some parts of the local government.
“These motorcycles will improve mobility for security personnel, particularly in areas where patrol vehicles find it difficult to operate,” he said.

He added that the terrain of Langtang North posed operational challenges for conventional vehicles, making motorcycles a strategic tool for surveillance and quicker response.
He also called on residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
The Chief Security Officer to the Chairman, Julfa Joel, described the intervention as the outcome of strategic engagements with security stakeholders, noting that mobility gaps had been identified as a key operational challenge.
The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Benjamin B. Aboi, assured that the motorcycles would be effectively deployed to strengthen security operations in the area.
The event was attended by the Deputy Chairperson, Secretary to the Local Government, Leader and members of the Legislative Arm, service chiefs, community leaders and other stakeholders.
