MACBAN President Bello Bodejo
President of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Bello Bodejo, has formally joined the race for the Taraba Central Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bodejo obtained both the expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking while submitting his nomination forms at the APC state secretariat in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, Bodejo declared that he was fully prepared for the contest and would not withdraw from the race.
He also appealed to other aspirants seeking the same senatorial ticket to step aside, promising to compensate them if they agreed to support his ambition.
Among those he urged to withdraw are the serving senator representing Taraba Central, Sen. Haruna Manu, who is also a former deputy governor of the state, and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Babangida Nguroje.
Bodejo maintained that his decision to contest was driven by his desire to provide what he described as quality representation for the people of the zone.
According to him, he has entered the race “not to withdraw at anytime but to prosecute the election to the end.”
His entry into the senatorial contest has already stirred political discussions across Taraba State, with many observers describing the APC ticket for Taraba Central as one of the fiercest political contests ahead of the party primaries.
Political analysts note that Bodejo, Haruna Manu and Babangida Nguroje, who have all obtained nomination forms, belong to Fulani-speaking communities with significant voting strength in the senatorial district.
