Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has directed the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency to ensure that intending pilgrims from the state receive quality care and seamless services before, during and after the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The Director of Operations of the agency, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Yusuf, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Ibraheem Musa.
According to him, the Governor has made adequate arrangements to guarantee the comfort and welfare of Kaduna pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
He revealed that Governor Uba Sani recently remodelled and upgraded the Mando Hajj Transit Camp with modern facilities aimed at ensuring smooth Hajj operations.
“The camp now has five-star hotel facilities, with separate sections for male and female intending pilgrims, as well as comfortable rooms and improved sanitary facilities,” he said.
Abubakar further explained that the transit camp now boasts a state-of-the-art ICT centre, an ultra-modern hall and office complex that would also serve as an operational base for the agency during the movement of pilgrims to the airport.
He added that the entire camp premises had been tarred, while security around the facility had been strengthened to provide a safe and conducive environment for intending pilgrims.
The Director noted that a section of the camp had also been designated as a commercial hub where pilgrims could conveniently purchase essential items without leaving the premises.
He said the camp, located in Mando, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, enjoys constant electricity supply, a development he said would further enhance operations during this year’s Hajj exercise.
Abubakar also commended Governor Uba Sani for donating a fleet of CNG buses to the agency, noting that the vehicles would ease the transportation of pilgrims to the airport.
He assured that adequate arrangements had equally been concluded in Saudi Arabia to ensure that Kaduna pilgrims enjoy comfortable accommodation and other essential services in the Holy Land.
The Director praised the Governor for the achievements recorded by the agency since the inception of the present administration in 2023, saying the improvements had significantly enhanced Hajj operations in the state.
He recalled that Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency was recognised in 2023 for providing quality accommodation for pilgrims.
He also noted that in 2024, Independent Hajj Reporters commended Kaduna State for successfully airlifting all its intending pilgrims to Makkah 10 days before the closure of the King AbdulAzeez International Airport.
According to him, the agency also received commendation for its transparency in the conduct of the Hadaya (animal sacrifice) process, which led to a refund of $50 to pilgrims.
