Naira Marley, Mohbad and Sam Larry
The Lagos High Court has fixed July 2, 2025, for judgment in the application filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, seeking to quash the DPP’s legal advice that freed Naira Marley and Sam Larry over allegations of being involved in Mohbad’s death.
Senior Advocate Wahab Shittu, representing Aloba, argued that there was a lack of fair hearing in the DPP’s decision.
“We believe that the DPP’s legal advice was made without considering all relevant facts,” Shittu said.
The respondents, however, argued that the suspects were discharged, not acquitted.
“The suspects were released due to lack of evidence linking them to Mohbad’s death,” Ayinde Ibrahim, a legal assistant in the DPP’s office, said.
The court will deliver its judgment on July 2, 2025, determining whether to quash the DPP’s legal advice.
