FIFA President Gianni Infantino presents the AFCON 2025 golden boot award to Morocco’s Brahim Díaz on Sunday in Rabat
Morocco’s attacking ace, Brahim Díaz, has emerged as the Puma Golden Boot winner at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, capping a brilliant individual campaign on home soil.
The Atlas Lions forward finished as the tournament’s leading scorer, reinforcing his importance to the host nation after also topping the scoring chart during the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
Díaz ended the competition with five goals, a tally no other player could match, even though Morocco narrowly missed out on lifting the trophy after losing in the final.
His goals came across all stages of the tournament. He opened his account against Comoros, found the net versus Mali, and struck twice against Zambia in the group phase.
The Real Madrid attacker maintained his scoring streak in the knockout rounds, netting against Tanzania in the Round of 16 and later adding another against Cameroon in the quarter-finals.
By scoring in five different matches, Díaz not only joined a select group of AFCON greats but also set a new Moroccan record for consistency at the continental finals, underlining his status as one of Africa’s standout performers.
