Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a decisive pre-emptive strike against Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State, killing scores of insurgents and crippling their plans to disrupt Eid celebrations.
Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Saturday.
He said the airstrikes targeted key terrorist hideouts at Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia on Thursday and Friday.
According to him, NAF conducted the precision airstrikes based on credible intelligence that Boko Haram terrorists were planning to launch attacks on Sallah Day.
“The airstrikes delivered direct hits on terrorist structures used for storage and coordination, neutralizing several terrorists and destroying key logistics structures.
Battle Damage Assessments confirmed the success of the operation, with several terrorists neutralized and key logistics structures destroyed.
He said NAF’s swift action has underscored its commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting national security objectives.
