
Pilgrims converge at Mina for symbolic stoning ritual

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has commenced the inbound transportation of Nigerian pilgrims from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
As of the latest update, 1,310 pilgrims have successfully returned home.
According to Malam Shafii Mohammed, Principal Information Officer at NAHCON, four designated Nigerian Hajj air carriers have operated a total of four flights.
The flights include– Maxair flight VM269: Departed Jeddah for Bauchi with 551 pilgrims and 7 officials
Flynas flight XY9006: Departed Jeddah for Kebbi with 413 pilgrims and 6 officials
UMZA flight UY3534: Departed Jeddah for Abuja with 41 pilgrims and 122 officials
Airpeace flight APK7901: Departed Jeddah for Owerri with305 pilgrims and 7 officials.

NAHCON’s efforts aim to ensure a smooth and safe return of the pilgrims.
Approximately 63,000 Nigerian pilgrims participated in the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
The commission’s coordination and planning have facilitated the successful repatriation of the pilgrims so far.
