Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule
Nasarawa State Sanitation and Waste Management Authority (NASWAMSA) has been hit with allegations of underpaying casual staff. However, the agency said these claims are baseless and part of a blackmail campaign against Hon. Isa Bello, the NASWAMSA leader.
The allegations were made by some casual staff who claim they were paid just ₦5,000 per month. But in a statement said no casual staff in the state earns less than ₦15,000 per month.
The agency said the claims are an attempt to tarnish Hon. Bello’s reputation, citing his remarkable achievements in transforming NASWAMSA into a revenue-generating agency.
Under Hon. Bello’s leadership, NASWAMSA has refurbished trucks and built a new office complex, among other achievements.
The agency said some staff were dismissed for engaging in double roles and earning double payments, contravening civil service rules.
These staff members were reportedly supported by some top officials who connive to exploit state resources.
It said Hon. Bello has ensured equity, justice, and transparency in NASWAMSA, leading to landmark achievements.
The agency has been praised for its accountability, evident in its recent budget defense in the state Assembly.
“The DG, Hon. Isa Bello, warns that more heads will roll as he compiles lists of those involved in recruiting casual staff and the recruited staff.
“The public is advised to disregard the allegations and trust Hon. Isa Bello’s vision for NASWAMSA, the agency said.
