Political appointees of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, have contributed a total sum of ₦3.5 million for the furnishing and maintenance of party’s office in the area.
The money was raised during stakeholders’ meeting at the instance of Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Dr Yakubu Kwanta, on Sunday in Akwanga.
The stakeholders also resolved to close ranks and work in unity in order to strengthen the party at the grassroots for development to thrive.
Speaking after the stakeholders’ meeting, Dr. Kwanta(Gamji Mada), said he was thrilled by the patriotism demonstrated by the political appointees from the area as “₦3.5 million was raised for our dear Party, the APC”.
He said the stakeholders reiterated their unflinching support and solidarity to the present administration led by its illustrious son and a quintessential leader par excellence, Gov Abdullahi Sule, to move the state forward.
Speaking separately, Chief Whip of the State Assembly, Larry Ven-Bawa (APC, Akwanga North); Napoleon Elias Gyobe, ACReSAL Coordinator and many others, urged stakeholders to make meaningful donations towards sustaining the growth of APC the area and state in general.
Earlier in a welcome address, APC Chairman of Akwanga, Alhaji Liman Abbas, said the purpose of the meeting was to raise funds to furnish the party’s office at local government headquarter and all the 11 electoral wards in the area.
Stakeholders in attendance include: the Chief Whip of the State Assembly, Larry Ven-Bawa (APC, Akwanga North); Napoleon Elias Gyobe, ACReSAL Coordinator, Mr Randolph Para, a retired permanent secretary and Andrew Yakubu, the head of Comprehensive Special School, Lafia among others.
