Stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has resolved to mobilise people from the grassroots to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) before the July 30th expiration deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The state Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transports, Engineer Idris Mohammed Idris, constituted the committee for grassroot mobilization on Thursday at the end of the stakeholders meeting in Keffi LGA of the state.
The meeting which comprises of political appointees of Governor Abdullahi Sule, APC executive, elders, youth, women and other critical stakeholders of the party in Kefgi, deliberated issues affecting the lives of the people politically.
Engineer Idris, in his remarks said the state governor has directed the committee to go to their localities and ensure every citizens get their PVCs before the expiration of the registration date fixed by INEC in order not to be disenfranchised in the forthcoming general election.
The commissioner commended the stakeholders and the entire people of Keffi Local government area for their efforts towards educating the masses on the importance of PVCs , while urging the committee members to be proactive in the discharge of their duties.
On their parts, the APC Chairman of Keffi LGA, Mohammed Bello Soja, the APC stalwart, Abubakar Mohammed Gada and Provost, College of Health, Science and Technology, Keffi Muhammad Suleiman Abdullahi, appreciated the commissioner for organizing such a meeting which according to them will motivate stakeholders of APC to work for the success of the party.
Some speakers at the meeting suggested that all stakeholders should embark on a routine exercise to ensure people who are due to register their PVCs are properly educated on the right direction, to enable them partake in the next year’s general election.
