
The Chairman, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Mr Jonah Dizago, has debunked reports of purported crisis in the Assembly over majority leadership position.
Dizaho told newsmen on Thursday in Lafia that the report carried by some online media was fake and should be disregarded in its entirety by members of the public.
“Our attention has been drawn to news circulating in some media that the Assembly is in leadership crisis, the House has no leadership issue.
” Nasarawa State House of Assembly has no leadership crisis. We are one family and united for the progress and development of the state,” he said
He said that those carrying such reports were mischief makers that do not wish the Assembly well in its legislative duties.
Dizaho said that members were working together for the overall development of the state.
The information committee chairman said that Mr Suleiman Azara ( APC- Awe South) remain the majority leader of the House.
“We do not have issue with majority leadership position. Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara is the House Majority Leader
“Mohammed Adamu-Omadefu was the Majority Leader before the Appeal Court in Abuja ordered for re-run election in five polling units of Agaza ward of his constituency, which he eventually won ,” he said.
He advised journalists to strictly adhere to their professional ethics by avoiding fake news and misleading the public.
“We would not hesitate to engage security agencies to bring the perpetrators of the fake news to book,” he said.
The information chairman assured that the House would continue to work as a collective in the best interest of the people and development of the state. (NAN)
