Nasarawa commissioner welcomes over 600 new members to APC

Nasarawa State Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Dr Yakubu Kwanta, has received the secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and over 600 members of opposition parties, who decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ningo Bohar ward of Akwanga LGA of the State.
Kwanta received the decampees from the PDP and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), among others at the official opening of the new party’s office in Ningo.
The commissioner also used the occasion to donate 406 Peugeot car to Stephen Sarkin Matasa Ningo Buhar Ward.
Speaking during the event, Dr Kwanta, lauded his kinsmen for their continued support and assured of the present administration’s commitment to delivering life-impactful dividends of democracy.
He also used the occasion to call on APC supporters to come out in mass and vote for APC at the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
Also speaking at the event, Mr Larry Ven-Bawa, the Chief Whip of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly lauded the Commissioner and Governor Abdullahi Sule for their commitment to democracy and public service.
Ven-Bawa who represents Akwanga North Constituency promised to complement the efforts of the duo and contribute his quota to the development of the ward.
Other speakers at the event include Mrs Larai Makpu, the special assistant to Governor Sule, on women affairs; Aminu Dogo and Evangelist Zakari Barkis described Kwanta as a true leader and called on others to emulate his gesture.
On his part, Chairman of the ruling party in Akwanga Local Government Area, Alhaji Abbas Liman, assured the decampees of equal opportunities.
