The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday announced that it has registered 74 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 167,692 confirmed cases.
As at Thursday, 1 Julu, 2021, the public health agency recorded one COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,121 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, noting that the 74 new cases were reported from 10 states, including: – Lagos (49), Ondo (12), Oyo (3), Rivers (3), Kaduna (2), Ekiti (1), FCT (1), Gombe (1), Jigawa (1) and Ogun (1).
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 167,692 confirmed cases, out of which 164,273 Covid-19 patients have been discharged.
The NCDC further noted that there were now 1257 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 2,300,266 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
