Primate, Most Rev'd Henry Ndukuba
Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba, has reaffirmed the Anglican Communion’s stance against LGBTQ at the 14th edition of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Chancellors, Registrars and Legal Officers Conference (ACRLOC) in Abuja.
He spoke on the topic ” _The Decade of the Reign of God: Progress, Challenges, and Prospects”._
The conference theme, ” _Called as a Watchmen”_ (Ezekiel 33:7), was a call to action to warn the church and society against evil and sin.
Ndukuba said, “We have continued to stay true to the Word of God and proclaimed the Gospel of Christ in a world marked by constant defiance to God and all that is godly.”
Ndukuba referenced the Church of England’s appointment of lesbian Archbishop Cherry Vann, stating that “the revisionists have not relented nor repented from their evil agenda rather they have gone worse”.
He cited 2 Timothy 3:13, saying “evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived”.
The Primate emphasized the Anglican Communion’s resolve to maintain orthodoxy and contend for the faith delivered to the saints.
“The Anglican Communion was more resolute and committed to the stance of the Church of Nigeria against homosexuality and heretical teachings in the communion.”
Ndukuba urged legal professionals to be “bearers of justice and sound counsel”, like Ezekiel, watching over justice with vigilance, responsibility, and courage.
“God said, `I have made you a watchman’; like Ezekiel, you did not appoint yourself; God appointed and you must see yourselves as such.”
The Primate stressed that watchmen should be courageous, vigilant, faithful, compassionate, and forthright.
Registrar of the Church of Nigeria, Mrs Kehinde Ajoni, echoed that Ezekiel 33:7 reveals consequences for not heeding warnings against sin.
“Let us rise to be the Watchman that God desires us to be, indeed,” she urged.
