
NNPC limited's spokesman, Olufemi Soneye

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Mr. Olufemi Soneye, has resigned from his position, effective immediately.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Soneye cited the need to devote more time to his family and attend to personal responsibilities that require his closer presence.
“This decision will allow me to devote more time to my family and attend to personal responsibilities that now require my closer presence,” Soneye said.
He expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their support and collaboration in helping to shape and amplify the NNPC story over the past 20 months.
“Your role in building a vibrant and effective communications presence for our national energy company has been nothing short of invaluable,” Soneye added.
He expressed profound honor to have served both the company and the country, and contributed to the ongoing transformation of NNPC Ltd.
Soneye remains a steadfast supporter and ambassador of NNPC Ltd. and encouraged his colleagues to continue their robust, balanced, and constructive reportage in support of the company’s noble mission and strategic role in Nigeria’s energy future.
“I remain a steadfast supporter and ambassador of NNPC Ltd. wherever I go,” Soneye said.
