The Sokoto State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested no fewer than four suspected kidnappers in the state.
The Commandant of NSCDC in the state, Muhammed Salah Dada, while parading the suspects on Friday, said they were arrested in Tsamiya, one of their out-post in Tureta LGA of the state.
According to him, “The suspects identified as – Bello Abdullahi, Bello Abubakar, Abdullahi Oro and Lawali Suleiman were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of one Alhaji Umme, Hafsat Dandare, Amina Umme and Alhaji Ustazu on the 22nd of April, 2022, of which they collected 5 million naira as ransom”.
Commandant Salah Dada added that the arrested kidnappers equally collected another 900,000 ransom from their captures in Dabagi village of Dange Shuni LGA of the state.
He said the kidnappers are syndicates with some criminals operating in Kaduna and Niger State States.
While stressing that the suspects have all confessed to committing the crimes, the NSCDC boss further added that they are on the trail of some of their collaborators who are at large.
Mr. Salah Dada, further, assured that the command in collaboration with other security agencies would continue to make the state difficult for criminals to succeed.
He also assured that all the suspects will be charged to court after the completion of their investigations.
