Olumba Olumba Obu recognized as pillar of sports in C/River

The Dean, College of Bishop of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) has described its leader, Olumba Olumba Obu as the pillar of sports in Cross River State.

Speaking while declaring open a one day sports feaster organized by the College of Bishop of BCS at the U.J..Esuene Stadium Calabar, Patriarch Bassey Imowo, said its leader contribution to sports development in the state is unparalleled.

Two football matches were played yesterday in honor of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu the Patron of the Rovers Football Club of Calabar at the U.J.Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

The first match saw the Abasite beat the 144 virgins by a long goal at the dying minutes of the second half.

In the second game, the Bishop veterans defeated the Archbishop veterans by a goal to nill at the end of the regulated time.

The march was witnessed by members of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and the Akamkpa Football Club Old Star Association.

In his remarks, the Dean of the College of Bishop, Bassey Imowo, said the father’s children came and expressed their joy and exercise themselves, saying “it’s not really who wins, it is God Will.

Chairman of the 2023 Coronation Anniversary Celebrations Planning Committee, Archbishop Akaninyere Ibanga, disclosed that the Father himself is a sports lover who knows the important of the game .

“We are celebrating our father. The two matches are in his honor as part of the 22nd Anniversary Coronation of the Kings of Kings”, he said.
