Ondo State Police Command has verified the passing of CSP Nimrod Anaka, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) stationed at Kajola Police Station in Odigbo Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olushola, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
Olushola provided no specifics regarding the officer or the circumstances surrounding his death.
“I can confirm the DPO’s (Anaka) death, but only a medical professional can determine the cause,” Olushola stated.
He added that details about Anaka’s age and state of origin would be released later.
According to reports, the DPO fell suddenly ill and passed away while being transported to a hospital for treatment on Tuesday.
NAN noted that the news of his death left officers at the Kajola Police Station in mourning.
A source revealed that the DPO’s body has been placed in a mortuary.
