The lawmaker representing Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Rep. Tolu Akande-Sadipe, says she is committed to making life more comfortable for the people of her constituency.
Olusada Olamilekan, her Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, in a statement on Wednesday quoted the lawmaker as saying this while inaugurating the commencement of repairs on a drainage.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, according to the statement, the drainage was wrongfully damaged by a contractor during the construction of the Ayegun-Oleyo road in Ibadan.
Olamilekan quoted the lawmaker as saying she was touched by the difficulties being experienced in the movement of people and goods by the residents of the area because of the damage.
“The repairs was part of Akande-Sadipe’s efforts to alleviate the hardship of her constituents, who have been experiencing difficulties since the drainage was damaged.
“The project is aimed at providing a lasting solution to the problem and to prevent further damage to the road,” she said.
The Special Assistant further quoted Rep. Akande-Sadipe to have added: “I understand the plight of the people in this community, and I am committed to ensuring that they have access to good roads and other necessary amenities.
“The repair of this drainage is part of my efforts to make life comfortable for my constituents”.
Olamilekan also added that it was usual for the lawmaker to show deep commitment to the welfare of her constituents.
“This repair project is just one of the many ways she is demonstrating her dedication to the community,” he said.
According to him, the project is expected to be completed in record time.
“While commending the lawmaker, her constituents have since been calling on other elected representatives in the area to emulate Rep. Akande-Sadipe in addressing the needs of the people”, he said (NAN)
