Police arrest 2 suspects for employment scam in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two persons for employment scam, as it has also commenced manhunt for the principal suspect scamming people for same purpose.

Those arrested were Emmanuel Michael, 42yrs, a private security guard in Abuja, and Jerry Aruwa 47yrs of Kabusa area, FCT Abuja, who issued 5 fake appointment letters of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The command in a statement issued and made available to Journalists by the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Nansel Ranham, in Lafia Friday stated that fake employment letters were recovered from the culprits as exhibit.

According to the statement, preliminary investigation showed that the suspects criminally conspired with one Kyari Nehemiah Daniel who is currently at large, a resident of Angwan TIV, Karshi Development Area , Karu LGA of Nasarawa State.

“The suspects claimed to be Customs Officers and defrauded unsuspecting members of the public to the tune of Eleven Million, Seven hundred and Ninety-two thousand Naira (N11, 792,000) under the pretext of assisting the victims secure jobs in the Nigeria Customs Service”.

“The Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Nadada has ordered a manhunt for the principal suspect Kyari Nehemiah Daniel”, the statement added.

Meanwhile CP Nadada, had advised Job seekers to at all times seek employment through proper channels in order not to fall prey to scammers.
