Police beef up security in Bauchi ahead of Easter celebration

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, psc, has extended  his warm greetings to the Christian faithful as they celebrate Easter in the State.

In a bid to guarantee a peaceful and incident-free Easter celebration, the CP has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical commanders to intensify visibility patrols and secure highways across the State.

CP Mohammed’s directives was contained in a statement issued by the police spokesman, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil.

According to the statement, the Command has deployed sufficient operational resources and employed various intelligence strategies to preempt any potential threats to public safety during this festive period.

The CP urged citizens to remain vigilant and celebrate responsibly within the bounds of the law. Parents and guardians are implored to counsel their children against engaging in any behaviour that could disrupt the peace of the State.

While felicitating with members of the public as the Christendom commemorates the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Commissioner of Police is hereby calling on religious leaders, worshipers and residents of the State to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies, as adequate and comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a hitch-free celebration.
