Pope Leo XIV
Pope Leo XIV has delivered a powerful message of peace at his last general audience before the summer break, expressing concern over developments in Iran, Israel, and Palestine.
In St. Peter’s Square, he urged the warring sides to “reject the logic of bullying and revenge” and choose a path of dialogue and diplomacy to reach peace.
The Pope emphasized the need for solidarity with all Christians in the Middle East, saying, “Let us listen to this voice that comes from on High: Heal the lacerations caused by the bloody actions of recent days, reject all logic of bullying and revenge, and resolutely take the path of dialogue, diplomacy and peace”.
According to the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV will reside at the papal summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, south of Rome, from July 6 to 20 and in mid-August.
During this time, he will recite the traditional Angelus prayer on three Sundays, attracting tens of thousands of people to St. Peter’s Square.
