Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) reached the Club World Cup semi-finals after a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich, despite having two players sent off in the final stages of the match.
Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele scored the goals for the French treble winners, who held on for a gritty victory.
*“Nine-Man PSG Hold On”*
“We knew it would be a tough game, but we showed great character and determination,” PSG coach Luis Enrique said after the match.
Despite being reduced to nine men, PSG managed to hold on for the win, thanks to their solid defence and clinical finishing.
Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala suffered a gruesome ankle injury before half-time, which could have implications for the German side’s chances in the tournament.
“It’s a tough blow for Musiala, and we’ll have to assess the extent of the injury,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said.
*“PSG’s Next Challenge”*
PSG will face either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals on Wednesday at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
“We’re looking forward to the next challenge,” PSG coach Luis Enrique said. “We’ll prepare well and try to make a good impression in the tournament.”
